I am writing this letter on behalf of my dear friend, Larry Smith, who is running for Councilman-At-Large. I have known Larry since we were in grade school. Larry is a very intelligent, highly educated and disciplined person. He is highly focused and an extremely hard-working individual.
Larry served as Councilman Ward 4. During that time, I believe Larry was the hardest Working councilman in the city. Every time I visited him, he was on the phone with constituents, going to meetings, training seminars, etc. He served the city greatly with his knowledge of computers, in dealing with city ordinances, etc.
This is what I can tell you about Larry Smith. If you are looking for a councilman to just do a favor because you are his friend, the Larry is not the person for you. I can tell you as a dear friend, Larry does not play favoritism. His integrity is impeccable. He voted with the city against a matter my family was proposing, not just to help a friend. He votes for the betterment of the entire city. He listens to his constituents, researches, takes advice from the city attorney, and votes accordingly following city ordinances. He does not waiver, even for lifelong friends. Larry is a dedicated leader who will fight for the city and to make it stronger and better for everyone. We cannot go wrong with Larry as our Councilman-At-Large.

Citizens of Bay Saint Louis: The upcoming local elections provide an opportunity to elect an individual with unique capabilities to the Councilman at Large position. Larry has an expansive educational background including a degree in Theology from the Saint Joseph Abbey located in Covington. Larry and his family are generational residents of the Bay area. He has experience working in both public and private school systems of Hancock County. Larry also has experience with the Bay Saint Louis Police Department. Larry is also a small business owner in the Bay area and intensively involved with the Knights of Columbus. These are just a few highlights of Larry’s many skills, capabilities and experiences. Benjamin Franklin once said, “if you want something done, ask a busy person”. I say we need to elect a busy person with a deep understanding of the community, with the ability to understand and implement a master plan for the bay and that person is Larry Smith.
